Dr Theunis Botha is an ophthalmologist in private practice in Port Elizabeth. He is a general ophthalmologist that services all sub-specialties of ophthalmology. However, he has interests in refractive surgery, presbyopia surgery, therapeutic laser work of the cornea, cataract and other lens surgeries, and corneal surgery. He completed his training in ophthalmology at the University of the Free State in 2019.

He is involved with the Bay Tissue Institute (BTI), a relatively newly formed corneal tissue bank locally in Port Elizabeth. BTI is actively working on building the bridge between the deceased and death notification.
