Welcome to
31st SA Transplant Society Congress 2025 combined with South African Tissue Bank Association (SATiBA)
Dear Transplant Colleagues,
It is an honour to invite you to the 31st SATS Congress which will be held at the Indaba Hotel & Conference Centre in Johannesburg on the 24th to 26th of October 2025.
The theme for this year’s congress is “Connect. Collaborate. Communicate” and we hope to present you with a stimulating scientific programme with ample networking opportunities.
Much of the transplant activity in our country has recovered to pre-Covid levels and as such, it is time to once again familiarise ourselves with the issues at hand in providing world-class care to our patients. Topics for discussion will include the evolving definitions around high risk organ donors, where the limits in transplant oncology and re-transplantation lie and how to ensure the long-term survival and good quality of life for recipients.
Round table discussions and debates promise to stimulate robust discussion and consensus amongst transplant professionals dedicated to best outcomes of South African patients.
Save the Date and we look forward to seeing you and your colleagues there.
See you all soon!
South African Tissue Bank Association- day delegate (SATiBA)
The Orgamites Mighty Education Programme is the only global organ donation and health education initiative of its kind. Designed specifically for children aged 5-11, it uses educational resources, tools, toys, and technology to inspire and equip more students, teachers, and families to discuss organ donation and to take better care of their bodies, each other, and our world. Launched in South Africa in 2025 resources are freely available on Orgamites.co.za for teachers and families to use and engage.
